This rocket was designed to produce a blazing trail of fire in the sky. In wartime, it could be a tool of psychological warfare, creating panic in the enemy. During peacetime, it could astound onlookers, much as modern-day fireworks displays do. In this pyrotechnic device, a cannonball is shot up into the sky, dragging behind it a rocket that is attached by a chain. A long trail of fire arcs through the sky from the back of the rocket.
